The U.N. SDG's encompass ethics inherent in many cultures and religions on issues of social and environmental justice. The Inter-Parliamentary Coalition for Global Ethics is launching a major initiative to create a global steering committee of parliamentarians, religious, education and cultural representatives to lead the efforts to harness cultural and religious ethics to promote legislation and social action to implement these goals .as a follow up to the 2016 High Level Panel and 2018 Summit of Parliamentarians.

The 'United Nations' Headquarters faces the Isaiah Wall inscribed across from the main building. The quote from the prophet Isaiah was chosen as the founding motto for the world's foremost organization for international peace. In his eternal thought, the day is mentioned when no nation will wage war against another nation, and when swords - the instruments of war - will be transformed into ploughshares - the instruments for providing man's sustenance.

Goal 16 of the SDG's " Promote peaceful and inclusive societies for sustainable development... is the pre condition for the accomplishment of all the other goals set forth in the SDG's." This coincides with "The International Decade for the Rapprochement of Cultures" (2013-2022) which stems from the United Nations General Assembly Resolution 67/104 adopted in December 2012, co-sponsored by Kazakhstan.

The goal of the High Level Roundtable is for the participants comprised of parliamentary and civil society organizations in the fields of culture, education and religion to share their insight and wisdom with UN/ diplomatic mission officials to assure that the vision of the United Nations, to have a peaceful and civilized world in which economic justice and righteousness prevail, can be fulfilled. The goal of this roundtable is to develop a strategy to work with the UN to implement the Rome Agreement on Education for the Culture of Peace and SDG's attached herewith and set forth a concrete agenda to meet this goal.

The agenda will be outlined in the "Isaiah Proclamation" whereby the swords ( the wars which begin in the minds of men) will be turned into ploughshares ( defenses of peace) through legislation and implementation of mandatory education for the culture of peace and SDG's in all UN member states/
